There are six garden tools that every balcony container gardener should have on-hand to perform routine gardening maintenance
1. A watering can with a rain spout- The plants must enjoy the natural feel of rain, haha. However, instead of raining down a storm on your delicate baby plants, the rain spout will be more gentle on them. You can choose a more upscale watering can, such as this elegant one with an extra-long spout.
2. You should absolutely wear gloves- Many purists will scoff at the idea of wearing gloves in the garden, but hey, to each her own. You will need to protect your hands when cutting weeds, repotting saplings, or mixing soil. Purchase a pair that will last a long time.
3. A small trowel would come in handy- It can be used to turn the soil in your pots when repotting them (to dig holes and to shovel in soil). Even better if you can get one with measurements to guide you.
4. The multi-pronged hand cultivator is used to rake and till the soil- to mix fertilisers into the soil when feeding nutrients to your plants, and to aerate the soil in your pots in general.
5. This activity will be much easier and safer with a gardening belt or tool bag (or garden apron!).
6. The pointed blades of these scissors are ideal for fine-tuned pruning work, snipping off with precision is exactly what you need for your indoor herb garden.
